Manufacturing Associate (Laminator Operator)

We are an online retailer selling to the education, government, military, and health care industries. All of our manufacturing is done at our Shrewsbury, MA location.

This position will work in our manufacturing process but will primarily be in the lamination area. This role will play a critical role in order fulfillment. The successful candidate will need to be highly organized and efficient in order to prioritize and complete work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will need a strong attention to detail, the ability to read work orders, use math skills, effectively utilize large scale machines, and complete work in a timely manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reading production paperwork and readying the appropriate tools and material for the work cell to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and quality standards are met
  • Communicate and assist with up/down stream production to ensure on-time delivery
  • Apply laminate to small and large prints, from lapboards 9” x 12” up to 4’ x 12’ and larger
  • Wipe down vinyl constantly during lamination for quality purposes
  • Work closely with Graphics to coordinate jobs and materials; communicate any lamination concerns
  • Quality control all prints after lamination
  • Provide application with prints in appropriate locations
  • Inspect incoming build materials for quality
  • Monitor, communicate, and escalate material and product levels to ensure sufficient inventory levels
  • Inputting and reviewing production data in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Record all waste with provided worksheets
  • Keep work area organized and clean on a daily basis for quality purposes (wipe, dust, sweep, mop)
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment per weekly reports
  • Learn and fill-in for other manufacturing positions as needed
  • Communicate process issues utilizing the Escalation Plan
  • Knowledge of OptiMA product lines and build components
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts
  • Contribute to team effort and perform other related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous print experience a plus
  • Proficient with measurements and basic math skills
  • Great attention to detail A MUST
  • Able to follow written/verbal instructions and protocols
  • Problem solving skills
  • Punctual and dependable
  • 100% participation in safety and security procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player
  • Work with little or no supervision
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Wear appropriate PPE while operating machinery/tools and while on the warehouse floor
  • Valid driver’s license

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time as well as walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch in a very warm/cold environment
  • Must be able to carry up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Frequently carry, lift and/or move substrate panels up to 5' x 12'
  • Run large scale machines
  • Observe all safety and security procedures
  • Work in a moderate noise level environment
