2021 Snowman Virtual 5k Shuffle
Don’t let the virus stop you from maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Stay active and healthy in 2021 by participating in the Corridor 9/495 Chamber’s Snowman 5k Virtual Fun Run/Walk. 2021 Snowman Virtual 5k Shuffle
Registered participants will receive a commemorative “Chillin’ with my Snowmies” long sleeved t-shirt (or cape for children) and entry into a drawing for prizes.
To celebrate your commitment to an active and healthy lifestyle, the Chamber wants to share photos of our 5k registrants on our Facebook page. Each paid participant will earn an additional entry into the Chamber’s prize drawings by posting a photo holding a sign that reads “Chillin’ with my Snowmies” in the Corridor 9/495 Chamber Facebook event (https://fb.me/e/2Nt9Lqwbd) using #C9495Snowman5kShuffle. If you don’t have your own Facebook page, email your photo to kaseec@corridornine.org and we will post it for you.
Here’s How it Works:
What is the virtual Snowman 5K Shuffle?
The Snowman 5k Shuffle is a fun way for the community and Chamber members to get active and stay healthy in 2021. You choose your own route to complete 3.1 miles anywhere you can safely move. Participate as an individual or challenge your co-workers, friends, and family members to join in on the fun.
Can children participate?
Yes! This is a family friendly event. We have youth size t-shirts or capes for children with the Snowman Shuffle Logo.
What are the registration fees?
$30 per person** (includes one entry into drawing for raffle prizes and one “Chillin’ with My Snowmies” commemorative t-shirt in the size you selected with your online registration. (For children, youth size t-shirts or “Chillin’ with My Snowmies” capes are available) Registrations will be accepted through February 7, 2021.
T-shirts and/or capes will be available for pick up at the Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce office (30 Lyman Street, Suite 6, Westborough) on February 22, 2021 or your shirt and/or cape can be mailed to you. **There is a $8.25 shipping fee for any shirts or capes mailed.
How should I complete the 5k Shuffle?
This is 100% your choice! Run, jog, bike, skip or walk this 5k. For your safety, the Chamber recommends completing the 5k in less populated areas for social distancing such as open space parking lots, neighborhood streets, walking trails, a favorite park, or on the treadmill.
When should I complete the 5k Shuffle?
You can complete the 5k anytime you desire during the designated dates of January 16 to February 7, 2021. You can even break it up into a few sessions if you prefer not to complete 5K all at once.
What about Timing and Results?
The Snowman 5k is not an officially timed race. However, you can keep track of your time yourself with a watch, GPS or your phone. This is a virtual member and community fun event. Times reported are on the honor system. If you don’t want to report your time, you can just report that you completed the 5K.
How do I report my time?
Results can be submitted any time between January 16 to February 7, 2020. Email your recorded results to Kasee Clayton at kaseec@corridornine.org at the Chamber office. The Chamber will share the results on the Corridor 9/495 Chamber Facebook page on Tuesday, February 9th.
Will participants be rewarded based on performance?
No, because participants are running in different locations, times, etc. we will not have performance-based awards. HOWEVER, we will have prize drawings for those registered for the 5k.
What is the date for the raffle prize drawings?
Join us Live on the Corridor 9/495 Chamber Facebook on Monday, February 8, at 4:00 pm for the prize drawings. You don’t have to be present to win. The Chamber will notify the prize winners. Prizes will include gift certificates to restaurants, spa services, and entertainment.
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges. Your t-shirt will be made available to you and you will be included in our prize drawings.
