How to Give a Presentation That Connects

Do you want your presentations and networking conversations to feel natural, confident, and impactful? This interactive, in-person workshop is designed to help small business owners and professionals communicate their value clearly, build stronger connections, and leave a lasting impression.

You’ll dive into strategies for making meaningful in-person connections and mastering networking conversations that feel authentic, not scripted. Together, we’ll practice refining how you introduce yourself, tell your story, and highlight your value—whether you’re presenting at a Chamber meeting, giving a spotlight in your referral group, or introducing yourself at a networking event.

In this workshop you’ll learn how to structure your presentations to be easy to follow, engaging, and tailored to your audience. You’ll explore practical techniques to grab attention, build credibility, and spark interest—without sounding salesy or over-rehearsed.

Led by Lara from Lara Zelman Marketing, this hands-on session is designed to be interactive and practical. You’ll leave with:

About your presenter:  Lara Zelman, Lara Zelman Marketing
 

Lara Zelman is an experienced marketer, creative thinker, and food enthusiast dedicated to helping food entrepreneurs and small businesses build and sustain a relationship with their customers to drive growth. 

With more than 20 years' experience working in marketing and communications in the non-profit, higher education, and small business sectors, Lara works with her clients to create actionable marketing strategies, optimize communications plans, write engaging content, organize event marketing opportunities, and craft community engagement strategies. Lara loves any opportunity to present or network and to make new connections. 

With both a business marketing degree and a Master of Liberal Arts degree in Gastronomy from Boston University, Lara is able to bring a holistic view to help clients build their brands and create strong relationships with their customers.

When she’s not talking marketing or food, you’ll find Lara at the hockey rink coaching her kids’ teams, volunteering making meals for food insecure families, exploring the farmers market, or cooking up a new recipe in her own kitchen. Lara is also involved in on the boards of a number of non-profit initiatives. She lives in Framingham with her husband and two kids.
