Empathy in the Workplace
More companies are recognizing that empathy in the workplace isn’t just a “soft skill,” but a strategic advantage that drives engagement, retention, and stronger team performance. Empathy builds trust, strengthens communication, and creates a culture where people feel seen and valued.
Empathy in the office improves collaboration and reduces conflict by helping teams better understand different perspectives. Workplaces rooted in empathy foster higher engagement, stronger leadership, and better overall performance.
Objectives:
·         Understand the impact of empathy on performance
·         Explore the strong link between Emotional Intelligence and      empathy 
·         Understand the value of empathic listening and the impact on team building and leadership
·         Discover techniques for measuring empathy and learn proven empathy building activities

Presenter:  Cynthia Conigliaro
Cynthia has been in the field of health and wellness for over 20 years. She has a BA in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross and graduate degrees in Social Work (MSW) and Business (MBA) with a focus on Organizational and Group Psychology from Boston College.  

Cynthia is the founder of her corporate presentation business Work Well Webinars where she delivers well-being presentations both virtually and in person to companies all over the country. Her presentations cover a variety of topics relating to emotional, physical, and organizational wellness. Examples of some of her presentations include Sleep is a Necessity, Empathy at Work, Eating for Energy, Healthy Corporate Cultures, Creating Resilience and Mindset Shifts, Menopause and the Mind, Work Life Balance, Managing Emotional Eating and Growing Through Grief.  

Through Mike Dooley’s leadership, Cynthia is also an Infinite Possibilities Certified trainer and presenter.  She has trained hundreds of people throughout the country on topics such as mindset, resilience, stress management, leadership, communication, growing through grief, and many others. For the past five years Cynthia has held a variety of roles at Organizational Wellness and Learning Systems (OWLS).  Cynthia and her team at OWLS are involved with projects relating to evidence based mental health programs that address complex workplace issues including burnout, substance misuse, anxiety, and depression. She and the OWLS team also focus on leadership issues to help employees improve communication skills and create opportunities for team building and organizational support.  Her work with OWLS supports organizations in areas such as resilience, self-care, mindfulness, healthy leadership, and health consciousness.   

Cynthia is currently a coach and corporate presenter at several well-known wellness centers in New England including Synergy Wellness Center and Release Well-Being Center. In 2012 she graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, IIN, and she has been an independent health and wellness coach for over 20 years providing group as well as individual wellness, resilience and life coaching.  

Cynthia has had a leadership role as a member of the Programs Committee and the Marketing Committee for the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts (WWCMA) for over six years. She writes wellness-related content for the monthly newsletter, develops marketing strategies to promote corporate wellness-related events.  For over two years Cynthia has volunteered for All Paths Family Building as an Infertility Support Peer Group Facilitator leading support groups around mindfulness and stress management. Cynthia is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and is also a Certified Blue Zones Advocate.  Cynthia is a member and presenter for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She is an Ambassador for the Corridor 9/495 Chamber of MetroWest and sits on the Programs Committee where she plans chamber programs.
